CASA BRC: tradition, materials and design in the heart of the Born district

Casa BRC is located in the heart of El Born, one of the most historic areas of Barcelona. A house with character, noble structure and materials that speak for themselves.
This project, signed by the architectural firm @caal.arch, is a dialogue with the past but without renouncing innovation. A space where every detail has been thought out, every material carefully chosen, and where the kitchen becomes the articulating heart of the whole house.
One of the main protagonists is undoubtedly the Ascale worktop with the Taj Mahal model, a surface that combines natural beauty with cutting-edge technology. This majestic marble, inspired by one of the eight wonders of the world, reproduces with exquisite fidelity the soft veins, warm nuances and visual depth. This porcelain material stands out for its resistance to scratching, heat, chemicals and abrasion. It is low-maintenance, making it an ideal choice for high-performance kitchens that do not want to compromise on aesthetics.

This dialogue between the rustic and the modern finds a perfect balance in the Ascale Taj Mahal worktop: a noble and technical material, capable of integrating naturally into a space full of history and character.
The worktop precisely frames the gold-toned undermount sink, which dialogues with the champagne taps, and extends towards an elegant table in Tuscan elm, a piece that softens the whole with the warmth of the wood and extends the functionality of the island as a meeting place. The table that rests on the island, with its soft neutral tones, adds a serene base to the ambience. Its champagne-finish ouverture handles and matching lacquered structure with stylised metal legs visually elevate the whole, giving it lightness and refinement.
Perfectly in tune with this space is the Bora hob, a solution that eliminates the need for bulky hoods thanks to its integrated extraction system, thus maintaining the pure lines of the design. This allows the gaze to flow from the kitchen into the living room, without visual interruptions, reinforcing the idea of a shared and fluid space.

So Casa BRC is not just an interior design project: it is a statement of how contemporary architecture can enrich existing heritage with honest, sober and technically impeccable solutions.
The choice of Ascale is no coincidence: it is a commitment to materials that not only stand the test of time, but celebrate it.
